Explore Existing Profiles
Search for profiles to locate teaching and learning resources and practices from our extensive collection. Use the search features to make your search more precise. For example, if you are looking for materials suitable for a particular learning technology such use of a Personal Response System (PRS), you might include ‘prs’ in the search field. Or, you might want to find materials by a particular author or neighborhood, then you might Search by person and enter Author last name (and first name if known). To search by a neighborhood, simply go to ‘Community’ on the menu bar and click on neighborhoods for those groups of individuals who are a part of the community of practice with a particular purpose. For those groups who have two or more neighborhoods that have an affiliation with each other, you may simply go to “Community’ on the main menu and click on Regions. Region may want to be cross-references in many different repositories or Community of Practices efforts.
Build CONNECTIONS with others
Find out what others have posted by using the Search features; Share what you are doing with others by posting a profile; If you have a colleague who is a member, search to see their posted innovations.
Let others know about your Innovative T&L efforts
Profile your innovative teaching and learning efforts Keyword(s) perhaps terms most frequency used to describe activity or concepts of learning; Type of Learning resource (i.e. tutorial, case study, assessment, laboratory/experiment support, practice problems/exercises, etc.); Appropriate Grade level; Author / Creator; Region affiliation / Collection cross-references such as: (VaNTH ERC, NEEDS digital library; NLII; etc.); and Publication dates of profiled efforts.
Be an active COMMUNITY member
Town Center - features and functionality to support connection, communicating, and collaborating. Neighborhoods - multiple members for group with common focus for purposeful discussions or efforts. Regions - neighborhoods groups of two or more that have common affiliation and desire virtual workspaces to support collaborative efforts and exchange of ideas.
Engage in formal and informal COMMUNICATION with other members
Communication tools are available to facilitate open dialogue, discussions among groups of individuals, and getting to meet each other face-to-face IP video and realtime chat. Share with others about your interests and desired to learn from each others experiences.
